What Is The Difference Between Convex vs. Serrated Hair Scissors?

Serrated blades cannot be used to perform certain types of hair cutting techniques, such as slide cutting.  The reason being one blade has serrations causing it to grab the hair. Therefore, you need a good convex blade scissor to perform this technique. Also, a convex blade will provide a much cleaner cut. Serrated blades tend to leave the hair cuticle jagged. The convex edge plays a big part in the way a scissor cuts through the hair.

Serrated - holds the hair like a comb & when it cuts through the hair it can damage the cuticles.

Convex - cuts cleanly through the hair with two smooth blades coming across each other.
