Tips for both the stylist and client to follow:
Slide cutting is a technique used to thin hair at graduated lengths. Hair strands are cut by sliding down the hair with the blades of the scissors partially open. It's meant to remove volume and blend shorter lengths to longer. This technique should be performed on wet hair. It's important to hold the scissors at the proper angle and they're sharp.
Clean your scissor on a daily basis either before you start or at the end of your day. Simply take a soft cotton towel with some isopropyl alcohol on it. Begin by wiping the blades starting at the pivot area moving toward the tips. Once this is completed, put a drop of oil in the pivot area and spread a drop on the length of each blade.
Serrated blades cannot be used to perform certain types of hair cutting techniques, such as slide cutting. The reason being one blade has serrations causing it to grab the hair. Therefore, you need a good convex blade scissor to perform this technique. Also, a convex blade will provide a much cleaner cut. Serrated blades tend to leave the hair cuticle jagged. The convex edge plays a big part in the way a scissor cuts through the hair.

Forged it is physically forced into shape while remaining in a solid state – while frequently heated. Forged steel is usually stronger.. The advantages of forging include: Generally tougher and will handle impact better than castings.
