Yasaka is now producing scissors under the third generation of the Matsumoto family in Nara, Japan. As they struggle with high material costs and counterfeits from China, the new generation is determined to improve the quality and construction of their products. All the classic styles are now made with ATS314 custom cobalt stainless alloy blades and a better pivot system for a more durable cutting edge and smooth cutting feel. As a result, they have increased their prices, forcing us to increase our prices accordingly. Despite this price increase, Yasaka remains one of the most affordable 100% Japanese-made scissor in the marketplace.

We have also recently received reports from customers that say they have purchased scissors from various on-line companies at extremely low prices, more than likely they are counterfeits/knock-off from China or they are of the old generation Yasaka's! You can be guaranteed, we only sell authentic Yasaka's and of the new generation.
