Thinner Texturizer

Difference Between Texture and Thinning Shears

Thinning Shears: Texture (or texturizing) and thinning shears look similar however each provide different results. Thinning shears remove excess weight from hair and use smaller teeth. These shears are designed to blend away demarcation lines left by hair scissor and soften the look. Newer models can have anywhere for 28-40 teeth.

Texture Shears: Texture shears or texturizing shears, have wider teeth and feature more space between the teeth. They are designed to remove a more substantial piece of the hair than thinning shears, while creating added volume and texture through layering. After cutting with these shears, the shorter hairs will lay underneath to support the longer hair.

So if you want to remove excess weight from the hair then thinning shears would work best. If your trying to create volume and texture through layering, think texturizing shears.
